Reasons to visit Porthcawl

Look what visitors have said

Beautiful‡ views and good for exploring!

During our visit to Porthcawl, visiting Rest Bay was by far the highlight of our trip. The weather was lovely and the views were amazing. Parking was easy enough right on the bay and only cost £2.80 for all day. When the tide went out there were lots of lovely rockpools to explore and beautiful sands to walk along. The breeze made a few small waves, ideal for children and adults to play in! There were lots of areas for families to set up camp, meaning it didnt feel over crowded and the surfing made for a good watch! I will definitely be visiting here again and if the weather is good its an absolute must see!

Very peaceful

This is the far quieter of the beaches in central Porthcawl and so is very relaxing. We took a walk along the coastal path and then went rock pooling over the rocks of the beach. It is a very lovely beach and also has a cafe which overlooks and also sells hot food (for reasonable prices too).
A perfect beach for rock pooling and surfing, which also has lifeguards on duty throughout the day.

Great beach for water‡ sports‡ & walking

Great beach for surfing, SUP and kitesurfing. Keep an eye on the tide times for kitesurfing as you need 2 hours either side for there to be enough beach. Carparking is Pay and display all year round. You can walk along the Wales coastal path even when the tide is in.

Breathtaking

Just outside Porthcawl is Rest Bay, we bought fish and chips from the town and drove up, parked on the car park over looking the bay and tucked in.

Just lovely and good fun for a wander too.

Lots of people surfing and swimming so plenty to keep yourself interested.
